Co-Curricular Activities

St Austin's Academy offers a large number of co-curricular activities after school. The emphasis in all Junior School activities is on participation and recreation, moving through into Lower Secondary where performance becomes encouraged, to Upper Secondary where the focus is on the elite level and on competition.

As a leading school in East Africa, we believe that the residents in our community should not feel the need to send their children to schools outside our feeder area just to ensure that they get the best sports coaching.

We offer the best.In the last 6 years, Austin's has proved to have the best basketballers, swimmers and footballers. The best often end up with sports scholarships from various universities abroad like UCCB, York in Canada and Peninsula in the US.

The goal of our Physical department is to instill in our students a love for sports coupled with a healthy life style.

Houses, Clubs and Student Associations

All the way from Nursery to Year 13, Austin's is divided into 4 houses named after 4 out of the Big Five i.e. Simba, Chui, Twiga and Impala. Inter house competitions in various disciplines cultivates loyalty and house spirit among the students.

Model United Nations (MUN)

St. Austin's has been involved in the East African United Nations since its founding 21 years ago. The annual conference in February at the United Nations Head Quarters in Nairobi offers more than 800 students from all around the world an opportunity to get together and debate resolutions dealing with a variety of world issues.

Youth Leadership International

YLI is a program that was recently launched and the first chapter of six students will join many other youngsters this coming summer for a leadership course in Washington D.C. The program will have its second session in Chile next summer and the young leaders will graduate from Oxford the following summer. This is meant to be a most exciting program for students aged 13 to 16.

Student Council

The Academy's Student Council at present consists of secondary students. The councilors assume responsibility by getting involved with problem solving and voicing their opinions. The council makes positive contribution to the academy's growth and success.
