Coast Academy was founded in 1970, by Academic Services Limited, as part of a programme to establish centres of academic excellence in Kenya. Since its foundation, Coast Academy has emphasised the highest standards in intellectual growth, in the development of social and moral values, and in preparing students for international university education and future careers. The Academy is proud to be at the forefront of Kenyan education today.

The Academy is in two units; the Junior School (Playgroup to Year 6), and the Senior School (Year 7 to A level). These schools situated in in Kizingo, one of Mombasa's most exclusive residential areas, are in close proximity to each other.

The multi-cultural nature of the school (20 nationalities are represented in the student body) gives a truly international flavour to all school activities and encourages students to learn in an atmosphere of tolerance and awareness of the richness of diversity.

Our outstanding, international teaching faculty provides a stimulating delivery of our curriculum as well as a caring and friendly atmosphere to support the learning process.
Coast Academy students tell us that they find the school calm, safe and responsive to their needs. We have justified our reputation in the Mombasa community as "The Listening School".

OUR AIMS

We aim to ensure that our students enjoy the learning we provide, are motivated to succeed and achieve high standards of behaviour and academic attainment.

Shared Expectations

We recognise that successful education requires close co-operation between the school and the home. We never lose sight of the fact that this places on us a duty to involve parents in everything we do.
Assessments and regular examinations in all subjects, the results of which are reported to parents, support our curriculum.
There is a full programme of Parents Days when Senior School Staff and Subject Teachers are available to discuss the progress of each student.
The Academy aims to ensure that parents are fully involved in their child's education and regular contact is maintained through the daily homework journals.
